Major refurbishment including a double height ground floor extension to the front of the The Crescent centre and a single storey extension at roof level. The delivery of this project will offer modern high quality offices. The building will be more energy efficient, have better accessibility and increase the cycle parking considerably.

The Project:

The Crescent centre is a 1970s building which has been extensively renovated and refurbished to improve the standard of the existing accommodation to meet modern expectations of comfort and amenity. These modern open plan office suites are housed over five floors and are located in the centre of Bristol. The refurbishment work continues to enable the building to become more energy efficient, have better accessibility and increased cycle parking.

The Brief

Jubb are providing civil and structural engineering support and technical design services for the refurbishment and extension comprising of a glazed double height ground floor extension at the front of the building, a rooftop extension comprising an additional storey, terrace, and re-configured carparking, cycle store and associated infrastructure. This will include developing design stages, providing a technical pack and design requirements for construction purpose.

The Challenge

The site is within a conservation area and close to a number of heritage assets. There are a number of existing trees within The Crescent centre boundary within the rear gardens and on the street elevations to both Temple Back and Temple Rose Street.
