New purpose-built student & co-living accommodation including co-working and workshop spaces. The accommodation units will be housed in 3 5-storey concrete framed buildings.

The site has a number of engineering challenges with the steeply sloping level change across the site being the most difficult to over come, with a high level retaining wall supporting the adjacent adopted highway.

A contiguous bore piled retaining wall solution was adopted to form the split-level element of block A. This allowed a quick and safe retention of the adopted highway and minimised the ground works risk.

Detailed analysis of the concrete frame and masonry cladding were undertaken at an early stage to ensure the optimum solution was adopted. We worked closely with the Architect to ensure a coordinated approach was maintaining throughout the pre-construction process.
Jubb have been appointment to undertake the civil and structural engineering design for the project.
