With an aging population and more complex demands Healthcare is becoming one of the most important sectors in which we operate. Jubb has broad experience of delivering projects from GP surgeries, replacing ageing buildings within existing hospitals, extending facilities to major re-developments of existing hospital sites. Jubb’s expertise in delivering practical solutions that can be delivered within live Healthcare environments is helping modernise Healthcare delivery.
The proposed £7 million development will be constructed on a brown field site in Aberaman, Aberdare in the South Wales Valleys. This development will consist of a 40 unit extra care facility on the former Maesyffynnon residential care home. The development seeks to provide independent apartments within a single building for those aged 50 plus with onsite assistance available to residents with decreased mobility or other similar conditions. In addition to the residential units the building will provide a number of communal facilities such as dining room / café; hair salon; therapy room and a winter garden.
This development will be constructed using a modular construction system. This process allows for the building to be constructed off-site, under controlled plant conditions in a faster time period compared to traditional construction methods. Jubb are acting as structural and civil engineers providing foundation design, drainage design and external works to the site.
Enlseigh Extra Care is a new development that will provide 72 extra care apartments. It will deliver up-to-date homes with care for local older people as well as providing communal spaces, including a café and hair salon for residents, local amenity groups and local residents.
The project has a number of bespoke features including cast stone lintels and a large double height common space, with large curtain wall elevation allowing plenty of light into the building.
Throughout the project Jubb maintained careful planning and coordination with the Design Team and Contractors, to ensure smooth continuation of site works. Jubb ensured that we were flexible and helpful throughout to deliver a successful landmark project.
Working for Linc-Cymru Housing Association on an Extra-Care accommodation scheme in Ebbw Vale. The site is situated over old mine workings and the structural solution responded to this challenge.
The project provides for 41 flats that enable older people to live in their own homes and maintain their independence with dignity in a safe and secure environment.
In light of the Coronavirus pandemic, our business resilience planning is now being implemented. Whilst we have not closed our offices at this time, we have empowered all staff to work remotely should they choose to do so, and our business infrastructure is fully enabled to seamlessly support the transition to this style of working. Additionally, Government advice may shortly dictate the need for us to make the closure of offices compulsory in the interests of safeguarding wider public health.
We continue to be fully operational but these measures are likely to produce a change to our working patterns.
You may therefore find that you have difficulty reaching us by our main office and direct dial landline telephone numbers but all staff can be still contacted by email, mobile numbers and Microsoft Teams.
